HIGHMARK FARMSTAND REWARDS PROGRAM LOGO • EASTON PUBLIC MARKET
Working with the Drabenstott Communications Group on behalf of the non-profit Greater Easton Development Partnership to create a new logo and print and digital promotional materials for the new Highmark Farmstand Rewards program at the Easton Public Market, launching in 2022.
Provided with a branding style guide for colors, fonts, and working with the official Highmark Blue Shield Logo.
Design Process
• or PLAYING WITH carrots •
My process for designing the logo resolve for the Highmark Farmstand Rewards Program at the Easton Public Market. I started with making a word tree to associate everything that I could think of with “Rewards”, circling in on the idea of using a carrot as an interesting mark to use - as in the carrot and the stick, with Rewards = Carrots. It’s also an easily identifiable mark - big or small, colorful, and appropriate for a farmers’ market program. After getting the go-ahead to keep going with the carrots, I then worked on getting the color combinations correct to both say “carrot” and to stay within the two preferred colors in the Highmark Farmstand branding style-book, the navy blue and the green chartreuse, with a few different styles and quantity of carrots. I presented a logo options proof sheet to help the client visualize how the different combinations of carrots and text would work together. They decided on the D2 option, which I was very happy with.
Rosedale Growers • Logo, Website + Marketing Materials
Since ’84, Rosedale Growers, a family-owned and operated small-scale plant growers in Quakertown, PA, have brought beautiful blooms, reliable and knowledgeable service, and affordable quality to home gardeners, landscapers, and wholesale purchasers. Working year-round to grow from seeds, plugs, cuttings, and divisions - the Rosedale Growers family and staff put forth a great effort to offer you plants that are healthy, strong, and ready for you to plant!
Rosedale Growers Rebloomed Logo
After being in business for decades, Rosedale Growers needed a brand refresh when we worked together to update their website. I wanted to make them approachable and immediately recognizable. Using the Rose element from their original logo, designed in 1984 and saved only as a JPEG scan and the original circle shape, I introduced a larger, juicier rose image and beautiful script to soften the logo. Using vibrant pink and contrasting green in the colors rather than the bright, fire-engine red of the original also helped to soften and modernize the logo.
Rosedale Growers Updated Website • Homepage • Visit RosedaleGrowers.com
Rosedale Growers needed an updated Squarespace website to reflect their true personality and welcoming nature. Updating the site also had the side-benefit of attracting record numbers of customers to the local business, some discovering the beauty and affordability of Rosedale for the very first time after living in the area for decades.

BRAINSMART THERAPY • LOGO + MARKETING MATERIALS
A modern, colorful brain with a funky typeset, was perfect for this therapy practice, which uses Cross Modal Therapies for their patients. Cross Modal Therapy uses the creative arts - music, writing, movement, art, and inner focus - to reach those experiencing trauma and offer healing through expression for mind and body. The various colors used in the mandala around the brain showing the different creative arts used, correspond roughly to the different areas of the brain that the particular creative arts shown access.
The overall effect of the colors against the white, showcase accurately the feeling and spirit of the BRAINsmART Therapy practice.
Some Like it Hot Club
• Logo for a Hot Jazz Band
An unused branding image for the ‘Some Like it Hot Club’ that drew inspiration from vintage jazz record covers of the greats. Mixing their use of black and white photos showcasing the musician(s), with duotone images, halftone textures (think vintage comic book artwork), and use of bold graphic shapes with solid color blocking, and solid funky typography, to bring some design history into a modern-day band, matching their historical rootsand leanings.
The use of a flame as the ongoing graphic element, while obviously matching the band name, is also very useful in recognition of the band. The flame image lends itself to some bold graphics, easily translatable and scalable to a wide variety of uses, including logo, merchandise, and future album covers. Using a set color of red, as the spot color, and adding in vintaging textures and fonts also harkens back to another era of design, when necessity brought out thriftiness in the use of one color with black and white images and halftone textures came with the older style of image reproduction.
Precision Green LLC. • Logo
I’m so glad I got to spend the time needed to come up with the perfect logo for this female-led local to the Lehigh Valley landscaping team! After a bit of back and forth with the traditional ideas for branding a landscaping company, the client mentioned being interested in “something with a protractor” and to “keep it classy”. I think this branding delivers on that concept.
Double-sided Business Card
From the beginning to final branding options worked out with the client:
LOGO + VINYL STICKER FOR THE JAZZ ATTIC
di-Sib design Logo
Hamilton Home & Garden • Logo
Sunday Carvery at McCarthy's Red Stag Pub
Magpie Media • Concept Logo
patternmaker logo + business card
CLIENT: PATTERNMAKER SHARON KNERR
BRIEF: Create a logo and business card that instantly gives an idea of how a patternmaker works.
INSPIRATIONS BEHIND THE LOGO AND BUSINESS CARD
Combined the idea of a dress form, with a traditional clothing pattern to create the logo. The Dove Grey color used was a client request.
CAROLYN LATANISION, NWS
• LOGO + BUSINESS CARDS
Carolyn Latanision, a gifted National Watercolor Society artist, asked for a sophisticated script logo for her name, and the deep purple background was her choice. I talked her into using gold foil to make the cards even more interesting.
Her watercolor work can be seen on her website, carolynlatanision.com
Nirvana Bleu Beauty Lounge • Logo, Packaging, and Marketing Materials
Created for the gorgeous beauty lounge space in Hellertown, PA. I wanted to convey the rustic, light filled spa space that the owner, Sandra Stola, created. The lotus motif is frequently seen, but is still effective at saying "peaceful". I layered it so that the transparency gave a sense of light shining through, and when the lotus is on the "water" curve in the business cards, signage, and rack cards, it's reflected, giving more sense of lightness. Overall, I wanted a sense of calm with a dash of sophistication conveyed in the logo and branding.
NIRVANA BLEU • PACKAGING
PACKAGING CAN BE SEEN IN MORE DETAIL ON THE PACKAGE LABEL PAGE.
NIRVANA BLEU • SQUARE BUSINESS CARDS
NIRVANA BLEU • OUTDOOR SIGNAGE BANNER

Molly's Irish Grille & Sports Pub
• Logo Design
Created when the newly purchased location transitioned from Lehigh Pub into Molly's, named after the new owner's daughter. Used a Celtic font, organized in a 'sporty' manner, and added the Shamrock apostrophe as an accent. Used in all advertising and merchandising of the pub, and on staff shirts.

'BEHIND THE SEAM' DESIGNER JEANS HANG TAGS
CLIENT: BEHIND THE SEAM DESIGNER JEANS
DESIGN BRIEF: Complete redesign of hang tags for 'Behind The Seam' designer jeans to better reflect business philosophy.
Wanted a clean, healthy and bright look. Work required the creation of a logo for the business.
Each tag has a different story to match with that particular pair of jeans. 4.25"w x 5.5"h, printed on 140lb cover stock. Replaced staples used to previously attach tags with hand-tied ribbons and decorative safety pins for easy attachment.
30th Anniversary Logo for Donegal Square
Created a 30th Anniversary Logo for Donegal Square to mark the occasion in marketing materials and on DonegalSquare.com.
Used throughout 2015. Incorporated Donegal's logo colors, and the Celtic motif originally created by Michael Sayre of Sayre Design in the mid-1980s.
Updated McCarthy's Red Stag Pub and Whiskey Logo
The newly transformed McCarthy's Red Stag Pub and Whiskey Bar needed an update to their logo, to go from Granny McCarthy's Tea Room to hip British Pub.
The original logo, designed by the very talented Michael Sayre of Sayre Design, used an iconic Red Stag motif from the McCarthy's Clan badge, but it was decided that the full logo was a bit too formal to use for the feeling that the pub wanted to convey - which was that of an informal, fun place to grab a pint.
Like the pub growing up around the old tea room, the logo also went through a few transitions before the final circle stag logo was landed on. The full Red Stag as designed by Michael Sayre is still used for the slightly more commercial ventures of the Red Stag Pub, such as on the merchandising of the food products that McCarthy's and Donegal Square sell from the recipes created in the restaurant.

McCarthy’s Whiskey Clan Membership Logo
The McCarthy’s Whiskey Clan Membership is tailored to celebrate and educate on all things whiskey. For the membership program, I worked directly with one of McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub’s Whiskey Ambassadors to put together educational materials for the Whiskey Clan Members, including a Whiskey Tasting Guide + Journal, a small educational book which included a section of Whiskey Notes, which are blank journal pages for whiskey enthusiasts to add notes to as they taste new whiskeys from McCarthy’s collection.
The Whiskey Clan Logo was used to brand a variety of promotional and membership pieces, including the official Whiskey Clan Membership Guide, Member Enamel Badges, and the Whiskey Clan Member Voucher Books.
